Stuart B. Millner & Associates (SBMA) is pleased to announce a comprehensive plan for assisting our clients in the area of equipment valuation and appraisal.
Over the past 25 years SBMA has been engaged in appraising thousands pieces of equipment, from single machines to complete plants. Recently, many of our clients and customers call us to provide to them a value from one to several machines. They could be anticipating the sale of the machine, or perhaps need the value to provide information to their financial institution. These are just a few reasons for appraisal; there are many others.
The question of how much it will cost to perform the appraisal always come up and for us it is most difficult to quote an appraisal cost for one machine.
With the advent of the Internet, many clients and customers start to do appraisal research on their own. Most of the information that they get comes from dealers’ inventory listings. Although this can be a viable source, the values obtained from this resource will always be the asking price and not the true market value.
We have a developed a comprehensive plan for those companies that have a need to understand the value of their assets and get the information from a source which is a recognized certified appraiser in the United States.
Instead of charging our clients for each machine every time the need for an appraisal arises, we are introducing a plan which will enable our clients to pay us a flat fee per year of $3,500 for our appraisal service work. These clients would also be able to receive from us an unlimited number of appraisals for individual pieces of machinery.
The appraisal would be a “Desktop” (No Physical Inspection) appraisal and the only requirement is that the client provide to SBMA:
· Make
· Model
· Serial Number
· Year of Acquisition
· Original Purchase Price ( if available)
· A digital photo.
Within 48 hours SBMA will provide a value based on the fair market definition or auction/liquidation value.
This plan does not include appraising an entire plant’s assets or the requirement that any field work be done. A separate quote will be provided for that type of work.
We have designed our plan to make it very easy to phone, fax or email the information to our office. Once received, the client’s assigned account manager will develop the appraisal and get back to the client within 48 hours.
In addition the plan will provide the following asset management and appraisal services:
- If the client wants to sell the asset, SBMA will post it on the web site which is accessed daily by over 5,000 manufacturing companies and dealers of used equipment worldwide. There is no charge for this service unless the client wants SBMA to market and manage the sale of the asset. If the client wants SBMA to market the asset, the charge for this service is 5% of the selling price. If the client does not want SBMA to market the asset, then all inquires are sent directly to the client so he can manage the sale.
- This plan can be utilized by banks, asset based lenders, finance companies or any other entity that has the need to know the “real value” of the assets in question.
This plan is meant to be very simple and will provide to our clients a dimension of asset management that they do not have now.
Please call me if you have any questions about the program.
Sincerely,
Stuart Millner
